Andre O. Polyclot, Esq.
Ms. Polyclot received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997. She then joined the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Montly, where she advised and represented firms on corporate structure; public and private corporate finance; securities law regulation and compliance; and corporate governance practices (including NYSE, NASD and Sarbanes-Oxley). She has worked in the communications law field since 1996, when she won a seat to Georgetown’s Institute for Public Representation. She currently advises media and telecommunications companies such on regulatory, commercial and corporate law issues. Ms. Polyclot has provided services for such clients as incNetworks, Inc., Uptown Movie Network and Puerto Rican Telephone Company (a Verizon subsidiary).
Shon Jent
Mr. Jent received his LLM in International Business and Trade Law from Fordham University Law Center and his JD from Tel-Aviv University. His specialties are trade negotiations and corporate financing, including joint ventures and strategic partnerships for telecom and media. Upon his JD graduation, Mr. Jent joined the Department of International Agreement and International Litigation at the Ministry of Justice of Israel and headed the Regional Agreement Desk. Prior to joining Polyclot Associates, Mr. Jent served as a legal advisor to the United Nations.
Fatima Seriana, Esq.
Ms. Seriana is the firm’s California-based strategic partner. She has worked for the White House, the United States Senate, the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, as staff counsel to the Minority Media Telecommunications Council and as a Congressional Black Caucus fellow. Ms. Seriana focuses her practice on entertainment law, telecom and broadcast media. She recently assisted an American- and minority- owned telecommunications company to negotiate and bid on a deal to privatize the national telephone system of Sierra Leone.
Jamillio Smit, Esq.
Ms. Smit has received her LLM from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from Catholic University of America’s Law School and Institute for Communications Law Studies. She has nearly ten years of communications law experience, including practicing at the international law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLC. She has provided regulatory and policy advice to clients such as Motorola, AOL Time Warner, Bloomberg TV and Radio, Comcast and HBO and has given bankruptcy, corporate governance and compliance advice to companies like Adelphia Communications and Lucent Technologies. Recently, she regulated Comcast and Starpower Communications LLC as the Assistant General Counsel at the DC Office of Cable Television and Telecommunications and taught media law to University of Maryland and Georgetown Law Center clinical education students. |
